Contemporary Track Lighting
Track lighting is by definition contemporary. There aren't any old farm houses with track lighting.
Track lighting helps you create a mood that you can't get with other lights. The advantage is you get more control over where the light goes. It's nice to be able to read wherever you sit down and to highlight sculptures and things. The only way to do this effectively is with track lighting. It also removes the need to have a blaring light everywhere so you can see everything.
Many restaurants have effectively portrayed this technique with long track lights that come down just over the food. In that way, the other lighting can be dimmed, but the food looks bright.
