We usually think of irregular shapes, sharper lines (sometimes trapezoid), and large windows. That's because that is what recent architecture has went to. Indoors, the spaces are wide and open. Instead of lots of rooms everywhere, you can see practically the whole level of a home.
For homes, architects have done this by eliminating the separation between kitchen and family room. They have also made a front formal room for the entry way that can be seen from the family room for a good transition.
The family room is often the focal point and you can see everything from this one spot. It makes it better for mom and dad to see what all the kids are doing. The only thing is that you can't see into bedrooms. Do we need to have glass floors?
Frank Lloyed Wright said that nature was God's best masterpiece. For some inspiration on architecture beauty, simply spend some time studying nature.
